Dack deal done.

Dack deal done.

Following an outstanding debut season in the Blue and White halves of Blackburn Rovers, highly rated playmaker Bradley Dack has brushed away any links of a departure after committing his long-term future to the club, by signing a new 3-year deal.

The new deal, sees his stay at Ewood Park extended until June 2021 and becomes the seventh player to follow suit in extending his stay at the club.

The 24-year old was the heartbeat of the team last season, as he pitched in with 18 goals and 9 assists in the league to help Rovers return to the Championship at the first attempt. His fine performances in midfield and off the striker, saw him rack up the awards for the 2017-18 season, which included Rovers’ Player and Goal of the Season awards, alongside the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Year award, among other similar accolades.

Despite his wealth of talent, the 2018-19 season will be the first time Dack plays in a higher division than League 1, which will allow him to showcase his skills and eye for goal, against a higher standard of opposition.

With the much-anticipated deal complete, Dack took some time out to reflect on his new contract with the Rovers media team.

“The deal has been a long time coming, but I’m delighted to have finally signed on the dotted line and I’m looking forward to the next few years at Blackburn Rovers. From the moment I walked through the door, I fell in love with the place and I was able to settle in quickly due to the way the fans took to me, which helped us achieve the incredible season that we did. The manager played a big part in my individual success last season. He’s always trying to help you as a player, whether that’s telling you off behind closed doors, or guiding you on the training pitch. I can’t say a bad word about him, because he’s been brilliant ever since I’ve come in. I do think that I have something to prove in the Championship, as I’ve never played in this division before, but I know that the staff, the players and the fans have faith in me, so it’s now up to me to show everyone that I’m capable of the jump.”

Boss Tony Mowbray spoke of his joy regarding Bradley’s contract extension, following the announcement.

“I’m delighted Bradley has signed and that the negotiations are over. I felt Bradley’s performances last season were worthy of a new deal. He’s a vital cog in our team, which everyone can see. He, not only brings some youth and exuberance to our side, but also the technique and footballing brain which allows him to have the sort of seasons he did last year. The number of accolades he achieved last season alone, are an indication of his talent, but the challenge for him now, is to keep his performance levels high against opposition of better quality, in the Championship.”
