Everton to enter Ewood.

With Rovers having already scheduled a home friendly in the calendar, which sees Liverpool travel to Ewood Park, the Blues have confirmed that a second-set of Merseysiders – in the shape of Everton – will also visit Ewood Park prior to the start of the domestic season.

The feisty encounter, which is set to take place a week after the clash with Liverpool, will provide an opportunity for both sides to continue the building of their squads whilst seeing how their existing players cope in a competitive atmosphere, before the start of the season.

The tie, arranged for Thursday 26th July at 7:45pm, sees Everton’s riches come to Ewood for the first time since the summer of 2013, a game in which Everton, then managed by current Belgium boss, Roberto Martinez, ran out comfortable 3-1 victors.

Although the previous encounter doesn’t spell much optimism for Rovers, a lot of change has occurred throughout the hierarchy and playing staff of both clubs, which makes the tie – despite it only being a friendly – all the more exciting. With Rovers coming into the friendlies on a high following their promotion to the Championship, in contrast to Everton who had a disappointing campaign when compared with their pre-season ambitions, it will be interesting to see whether their form from the previous campaigns, can carry over into the game and indeed, their seasons.

Tickets for the game are identical to that of the Liverpool game, meaning adults can watch the Merseyside double-header for a just £20. The full ticket prices are as follows; £10 for adults, £5 for seniors (65+) and young adults (ages 18-21), and just £2 for juniors (under-18s), with the tickets set to be released as the tie grows near.
