Rovers Double Deadline Dealings

Rovers have doubled their deadline day tally by securing the signature of promising left-back Sam Hart from Liverpool on a 2-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The former Port Vale loanee, began his career in Manchester United’s youth ranks, before moving into Liverpool’s development squad. Hart picked up some valuable first team minutes as he played under Jürgen Klopp for Liverpool in pre-season last summer; however the 20-year old found opportunities extremely limited at Anfield and had to settle for a temporary switch to Port Vale.

During his six-month spell at Vale Park, the Horwich-born defender gained some valuable League One experience which is sure to set him in good stead for his career at Rovers as he left Vale with 16 appearances and 1 goal to his name. Additionally, the capture of Hart is sure to excite and calm the fans who were looking to finish the window with some defensive recruitment due to the potential number of injuries that may rise over the course of a season which includes over 50 games.

Speaking to Rovers’ media team, the 20-year old disclosed his excitement regarding the move to Ewood. “I’m excited that the deal’s all gone through and I can’t wait to get started. I’ve got to try and work as hard as I can to get as much game time as I can to try and forward my career. The gaffer said that he wanted me to come in and work hard and that the rewards would follow so that’s what I’m going to do. It’s a massive club and promotion is the only thing we see going forward.”

The Rovers fans will be hoping Hart can add some much needed depth at the back for Rovers and that he can help the team push for promotion come the end of the season.
