“It’s definitely been a night which I’ll never forget in my life.”

Following the confirmation of Rovers’ immediate return to the Sky Bet Championship, after a 1-0 victory away at Doncaster Rovers sealed the Blues’ fate, Rovers’ talisman, Bradley Dack, who’s 18 goal contribution this season hasn’t gone unnoticed, spoke to the clubs’ media team and reflected on his first career promotion, as he looked towards a first-ever season in the 2nd tier of English football.

“It feels unbelievable to have clinched promotion and I’m delighted to do it with the group of lads that we’ve got, because we are so close and to achieve something like this, is massive. There was a lot of pressure on us at the start of the season, with everyone expecting us to go up and to go out and deliver, how we did, is unbelievable.

“It’s hard to put it into words as it’s a feeling that I don’t think anyone can describe and to share it with people, who I’ve only met this year, but to come together like we have and show the spirit, desire and togetherness we’ve shown, is unbelievable. The team spirit in the dressing room, is second to none, and to clinch the promotion with them as teammates, is amazing.

“After the first-half, it was looking like it was going to be one of those game where it just doesn’t go in. Saying that however, the skipper (Charlie Mulgrew), has been fantastic this season, he’s led by example both on and off the pitch, and he’s come up with a massive goal to take us up and I think it was fitting that he got the goal. The feeling we felt when we saw the ball hit the back of the net is simply indescribable, especially after thinking that it’d never go in for us.

“When the final whistle went, you could just feel the relief of knowing that the past 10 months of hard-work has been worth it and has culminated in us getting promoted, which is how we all wanted the season to end. It’s definitely been a night which I’ll never forget in my life. The support has been phenomenal. To see nearly 4,000 of our fans behind the goal, almost filling up half of the stadium, remaining in full voice all night, is amazing and it’s an incredible feeling to be able to clinch promotion in-front of them in the manner that we did.”
