After Rovers’ 1-1 draw away at Shrewsbury Town, BBC Radio Lancashire caught-up with Rovers’ goal-scorer Bradley Dack, who opened his goal-scoring account on the 84th minute with Rovers’ equaliser, which avoided gave the visitors a point.
“Obviously, it’s a little bit frustrating, we came here to win and conceding the goal and then scoring at the time we did to only get a point is frustrating for everyone involved, but it’s another point on the board. I think if you look at every goal a team concedes and dissect it then maybe it was avoidable and it was a disappointing goal to concede but the main thing is that we’ve got a point from the game. It’s nice to be able to get through a full 90 minutes, my first full game of the season and I’ve come through it with no injuries, which is good for me, but we would have liked to take away three points.”
Dack was asked whether he felt that he was going to be one of the three players to be withdrawn in place of the substitutes that Tony Mowbray had lined up around the 70th minute mark as he was being called over at the same time as the changes were being made.
“No, I could tell the gaffer was calling me over to change the shape. He put me inside and obviously I got a lot more joy than out on the wing as I got more of the ball and goal from that position. I’m not sure how we’re going to set up on Tuesday night, but it’s always a different game at Ewood, we’ll have a lot more of the ball so it’s up to the gaffer what he wants to do.
“My yellow card was quite strange, I think as the player ran past me, I must have accidentally clipped his heels and I don’t think the referee even saw it, I don’t know who gave it to be honest. It was a weird one and obviously as a result, they’ve crossed the ball in and scored from that play, which is disappointing, but it’s all swings and roundabouts so hopefully we get a similar play soon.
“Everyone can see that we give 100% every week, I don’t think that’s in the question. We’ve shown a lot of character to come up against a team that have been strong at home all season, they’re top of the league and we’ve come away with a point. I think that if we win the next two games, you look back and think that today’s point wasn’t that bad. Hopefully, now that everything’s sorted with my hamstring hopefully, I can now get some full games under my belt and I can focus on playing well for the club.”
